Mseto East Africa is the biggest TV and online show representing East Africa showbiz, music and entertainment. In Mseto East Africa tradition, every Tuesday is #WakilishaExperience show that is hosted by Fundi Frank alongside Sameer Bry and Mzazi Willy Mtuva, on the decks is Dj Flash and Dj Dexx. The show is hosted later in the night on location-Club 64 (former Bettyz) after the #MsetoeaHipHopTuesdays live show on Citizen TV is aired.
The #WakilishaExperience aims to give a platform to local hip-hop artists to prove their craft. They are given ample time on stage to showcase their latest project, perform and talk to their fans directly albeit given the podium to advertise themselves. The night was scheduled for seven artists, two of whom were a no-show, to release their latest video cum perform it in front of the crowd.
In the line-up were artists from different parts of Nairobi and its suburbs, among them: MCee Yoda from Limuru, Mtalii from Nairobi, Sabato from Langata, Gin Deal from Nairobi, the duo; Schax and Kasisi and Dufla from Nairobi as well who was the surprise act for the night.
The performances ranged from hit-miss in a distinctive manner but nothing the MCees of the night couldn’t handle with artistry management experience they corrected the artists and engaged them on the up-close level on the expense of the lit crowd- to some degree.
MCee Yoda brought the house down, surprising everyone on stage spitting fiery bars on the mic alongside his pumped up hype man-MC –Robz, whom for a minute sounded so much like the MCs hosting the night. Hence, after the performance, it was announced he would be the first guest speaker on the TV show from #WakilishaExperience. Alekey, a reggae artist brought his reggae tone music and unpretentious video. Sabato’s ‘Sijai Skia’ performance was full of the contagious psyche that got the crowd despite the absence of the featured artist –Jua Kali. Gin Deal the only female artists of the night was a real class act as she danced and performed on the dance floor with her squad rather than on stage. The show was closed by Dufla staggering performance, as the curtains came down and comedian dancers closed the show.
